Color Challenge 126 – Fallabulous

MFT Color Challenge – Erika Hayes, Paper Artist

Good afternoon Crafty Designers!

Seriously, these colors are fabulous together. I plan to use this combo a few more times over the next few days!!! So, what are these fantastic colors???!!!???

I love the little hint of gray in this color scheme. It was a beautiful idea so kudos to whomever chose that little bit of neutral niceness. If you get a chance to make a card with these lovely colors, be sure to enter the contest for a chance to win some MFT Cash Click HERE to pop over and see some of the other entries and maybe add your own!

Anyway, I have a lot more fun cards to post from other companies coming soon. A few you can look forward to… StampingBella, InkBlot , Rabbity Hole Designs(one of my newest favorite companies), Oh and the Simon Says kit of the month

MFT sketch challenge#456

Yup! I did another challenge. This one is a challenge for mostly because I struggle with hard diagonal lines. For me it’s just too much. So, I thought and thought about how I could make this sketch work. I finally came up with the card below. I first was going to use the vines to make the line but I didn’t like it. So, I went with balancing the hard diagonal line with the soft horizontal lines of the water color stripe mft background stamp. I worked with the principal of odds as well. I hope you enjoy my version of the sketch

My Favorite Things Sketch challenge #455

Hey howdy ho neighbors. I also managed the sketch challenge…I had to reverse the image on my Waffle Flower Media May. Which made a great image. I am thinking I’ll start posting more since I’ve gotten a craftroom again I have cards pouring out of me (knock on wood). Anyway, I have some other companies to share too so hold on to your notifications cause I will be posting more here at the Artistic Detail.

2019 Card Design Superstar Entry at MFT

Let’s face it, I LOOOOOVE MFT (My Favorite Things Stamps) I am here to tell you I have pretty much every stamp set available at this time. I love them because I love making CAS (clean and simple) cards and the sets make it so easy. Cute sentiments, adorable images and they are the perfect size for a CAS card. MANY card companies make the stamps too big or way too small and they are too small/big to bring balance to the CAS style. CAS uses a lot of white space and balance of color and weight. CAS to me doesn’t just mean an image in the corner and bam done. It means we find the balance and use white-space mindfully with weight of design. MFT Stamps makes it SOOOOoooOOOO easy because the make such amazing “sets” of stamps . ANYWAY, here is my final entry for the contest. My CAS card.

MFT 2019 Card Superstar Contest – Category 2

Okay, I color, A LOT. In fact, it is my favorite thing about card making. I use every kind of marker, pencil and other medium I can get my hands on. In this contest, I tried to show a little of everything. This entry is watercolor painting. My Animation entry is Copic and my CAS entry (next one I will post) is Colored pencils. I want everyone to know, you don’t have to have the most expensive things to color and enjoy your card making. I hope you enjoy this category as I am really working on my water coloring. I have begun taking classes and really like it. Here it is… the background is completely free hand. I also painted the pumpkin because I thought it would be nice to use it to blend the foreground with the background.

Happy Camper at MFT

I love challenges, and MFT has some of the best!

Last week was Summer Camp for My Favorite things.  They put up five different techniques and challenges and I happened to get them ALL DONE!  True!  Now I need to add them and share them.

The Challenges were:

  • Day 1 – Watercolor (Galaxy style – “You Mean the World to Me”
  • Day 2 – Resist (I used Tim Holtz resist spray – “High Tide or Low Tide”)
  • Day 3 – Slider Card – (MFT has the cutest slider stuff.  It makes it fun and easy “Hugs”)
  • Day 4 – Shaker Card (Gnome with adorable clay mushrooms from HIA “You Gnome Me”)
  • Day 5 – Glitter (The video added a little glitter to the sequin and I loved that idea.  I use a lot of glittery goodness, but to add just a touch is not always easy. “hello”

Anyway, here are the cards I made.

Day 1: Galaxy Watercolor
Day 2: Resist
Day 3: Slider Card
Day 4: Shaker Card
Day 5: Glitter Challenge
